Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to the blog for Your Health Group. We are a private healthcare company in charge of ten care homes across the country. You can find out more about our homes, services and policies, as well as our dedicated homecare agency via our website. We are passionate about care, and hope that's obvious to all who visit our site.

While our website is the place to go for information you've now stumbled upon a gem; this is our blog. Here you will find details of upcoming events, recent activities and exciting announcements, which we'll share across all ten homes. Our staff and residents get up to an awful lot, and we thought it was about time that we had somewhere to document all of our goings on.

For the time being watch this space, but do contact us if you'd like any additional information about our services.

Christmas Cards of Kindness

If you follow our Postcards of Kindness project on Facebook you'll know we recently partnered with thortful.com cards to raise money for Dementia Adventure via a very special collection of postcards. Detailed below, the concepts for the cards were developed by members of the charity's special interest group, each one living with a form of dementia, and brought to life by members of thortful's community of creators. The idea is very simple; via the thortful app anyone will be able to choose a postcard and send Christmas wishes and memories to any of our 1,000+ care homes registered with Postcards of Kindness. 100% of the profits from each card's sale will go to Dementia Adventure, a charity that promotes, organises and funds outdoor adventures for those living with dementia. The hope is that each card will trigger nostalgia or inspire a conversation, to let care home residents know they're not alone this Christmas - a priceless outcome for just 99p. The cards can

My Week With Your Health Limited

My work experience wasn’t what I had expected. As someone who has always wanted to work in care or medicine, going to a care home was my first thought when told I needed to find a work experience placement.  When Your Health Limited accepted me for the week, I was ecstatic. Yes, I couldn’t be based at a care home for the whole week, and that was slightly disappointing, but I could still experience what care was like, and get a look behind the scenes as well. The first care home I went to was Langwith Lodge, in Nottinghamshire.  Not having been to many care homes beforehand, I wasn’t entirely sure what I was going to see, or what to expect. Would everyone just stay in their beds, eating, sleeping and never truly aware of the world?  Whatever I expected, it didn’t come close to what I actually found.  The residents were moving freely around the home, engaging in the different activities on offer, chatting with the carers and other residents.  It was incredible; you’d almost never

Postcards Of Kindness Spreading Joy This Summer

Your postcards are making a real difference this summer, and beyond... Last year our care group launched the Postcards of Kindness appeal, which asked members of our homes' local communities to send postcards from wherever in the world they'd been on holiday. While we knew that some individuals were likely to receive cards from their own relatives we wanted to include everybody at each home; we wanted to ensure that no resident was left out, and make every adventure accessible to all. The response to our appeal was phenomenal, and thousands of cards from all around the world were received in a very short space of time. Not only did our homes receive postcards from friends, relatives and neighbours, but cards also came from people living on the other side of the world and everywhere in between. The senders were keen to share details of their hometowns and holidays, and inspire happy memories for our residents to share with staff members. Our campaign hoped to alleviate
